Symptoms
- I would like to leave a Unity organization
- I am leaving a Company and want to leave their organization
Cause
As a Unity user, you may be listed as a User, Manager or an Owner of an organization. As an Owner of an organization, you are able to remove team members, however, as a User and Manager, you are still able to leave an organization of your own accord.
Resolution
To leave an Organization that you no longer want to be a part of, follow the below instructions:
- Login at id.unity.com.
- Click on the Organizations tab.
- Click on the organization you want to leave.
- Click on Leave Organization on the left of your screen

This doesn't make it clear how to actually remove an account. I have a person in my guests section where all I can do is check and uncheck the user. How do I actually remove the user from my org?
Hi Drew,
Thank you for your message.
To remove users from your Organization, you can do this by going to the Members & Groups section within your Organization and then pressing the 'X' icon to the far right hand side of the row on the user you wish to remove.
If you are stil having issues with this, please do not hesitate to make a support here so we can look into this issue for you in more detail.
Hi Maru!
Unfortunately that was not working as there was no X next to the user, only a checkbox.
I found the only way to sort this was to uncheck the user from within the guest account which then removed the user from here. I was then able to add them properly again using their email. I had done this before but I think something just bugged out.
No bother though! All sorted now and the development continues!
Thanks for the help anyway and have a mighty fine weekend.
I have an organization on my account that I am marked as the Owner of. I would like to leave it, but there is no button to leave the organization after following the instructions. I am the only member of this organization. Can anyone help me with this?
Hi Liam,
Thanks for the reply.
Looking into your account, I can see that you have an one default organization. As it is your default organization as an owner of it, you are not able to leave it. - I apologize for the inconvenience it may cause. Deleting organization is not an available option as well. Alternatively, you can change the name of the organization (eg. org not in use) to show that you are not using it anymore.
I hope this helps.
Thanks for the reply! It's not an inconvenience that I can't leave it. I figured out how to change the name without changing the details, so it's fine now.
