A reservation is a retroactive request to reserve a specified game server instance on a specified machine for a game session. Unlike an allocation, a reservation requires you to supplies the machine ID and the server ID in the request; there’s no logic to dynamically select a game server instance based on variables such as location, cost, and game mode.
When a game server instance becomes idle, your matchmaker must send a request to Multiplay’s Unreserve API endpoint to unreserve the game server instance. Once Multiplay receives the unreserve request, Multiplay will place the game server back into the available game server pool.
