Can I download an Asset without opening the Unity Editor? Is it possible to use Unity Assets within another game engine?

    Do you mean that you do not want to re-download purchased asset everytime you open a new project ?

    Hi @Robert, 

    In regards to your feedback, I've checked with our team that we are able to import selected assets you want without importing all the files into your project.

    As you can see attached screenshot file, when importing assets into the project, an import window pops up, where you can select which assets to import. As default, it is set to "import all", you can click 'none' and select the file you only need for importing into your project.

    I am not sure this function is what you are looking for but let us know if you need any further assistance regarding this.

    Asset Store in unity is TOO SLOW. I can't browse, search or download anything. I tried on an external browser, it says the asset is "Added" but it never downloads, no way to add to unity.

    Hi David, 

    Sorry to hear you are having issues accessing the asset store. 

    Here are suggestions to solve this issue. 

    1) Please disable any firewall, proxies, or internet security systems that may be blocking the download as you can have uninterrupted internet connection.

    2) update your Unity editor to the newest version of Unity.

    3) delete the cache and cookies of your browser.

    4) consider deleting some of downloaded assets from the below folder you are not using anymore.

    C:\Users\accountName\AppData\Roaming\Unity\Asset Store

    The downloading function in Unity needs work. I'm in China and it's very slow with my VPN. I keep needing to restart the download as I can't have my computer on for 2 days straight, and it keeps stopping midway through even when I try. Then I need to restart from 0% again.

    I love Unity and all, bought a bunch of assets. It's a pain to download them one by one, then import one by one. Why make me do all this annoying clicking and waiting and clicking and waiting ad nauseam? There's no profit or benefit in it for anyone.

    What's even less appreciated is a post all about "Can I avoid doing a thing?" where the answer is "Here's a helpful explanation on how to do exactly the thing we just acknowledged you don't want to do."

    Thank you for your comment and precious feedback. 

    I understand its not easy to download and import your purchased assets one by one. 

    There is another temporary workaround is that once you complete this in one of your project, you can easily drag and copy the downloaded asset folder into your another new project like below screenshot file.

    Is there plans to add a way to access assets in Unity without Unity Hub? I uninstalled unity hub because it seems to bring more problems than what it was worth, and I'm using unity in a class setting so i didn't have all the time in the world to search for what the problem was. However, I do not want to install and uninstall Unity every new assignment.

    Derek from Unity Customer Service here. Thanks for reaching out to us. 

    I'm sorry to hear that it's not convenient for you to be opening Unity via the Unity Hub. 

    It used to be possible to open Unity without the hub but this is something in which we've implemented to improve the quality of our users experience. 

    If something is causing you problems due to the hub I recommend going through the process in which gives you the error and grab the Hub log file then report a bug via the Hub bug reporter. If you are unaware of how to do this please see the instructions below. 

    Open the Hub. Click the account icon in the top right, go to Troubleshooting then select report a bug. This will open a dialog with the Hub Dev team who can assist you further. Hub logs can be found here:

    Windows: %UserProfile%\AppData\Roaming\UnityHub\logs

    Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/UnityHub/logs

    Linux: ~/.config/UnityHub/logs

    This can be also used to make suggestions on improvements for the hub. 

    I understand that this isn't a solution for your error but speaking directly with the hub team may provide the clarification you need to access your Assets smoothly.

    I wish there were an easier way to preview say, a 4GB pack of music files without having to download them all to my project when I plan to only select a few. I know I could open another project to do that, but I'd rather play them in my music player than have to open another instance of the unity editor.
