A package I want to purchase on the Asset Store says ‘Extension Asset: One license required for each individual user’ under the ‘License’ section. What does this mean?

Maxx, you really should elaborate.. because at it stands, your comment reads like gibberish(not trying to be offensive, just directly communicating).
// Let it be known; going back in the comments (by DATE)about 5-6 months..
I emailed with Rory over a few weeks, it wasn't worth the time as she would recognize the issues but she was unable to do anything about the issues.
    • Asset Store lacks flags/filters for SRP type it's all one big lump left to the asset-developer to state support..which many simply ignore.
    • The chicken before egg scenario is beyond odd;
AKA:  if you have an asset, you're disallowed a voucher of the asset...when it should simply be 1 voucher per asset.
So if I buy Asset-extension A, then later get a voucher for it, I should have 2 seats, not 1.
AKA: The point -  Limit 1 voucher no matter how it is applied.  (it's silly in the current form to avoid giving someone a seat for their voucher simply because they already paid full price for a seat.).

I wanted to buy the advanced input field which is $50 per seat and only one unity developer will be using the asset. But few other UI/UX designer and a project leader might need access to the whole project code. In this case how many license do I need to purchase.

    Hello Amit.

Derek from Unity Customer Service here. Thanks for reaching out to us.

Since Advanced Input Field is an Extension Asset, you will need a license per user who has access to that Asset. So if you are providing the project to someone which will give them access, even if they are not going to be the ones using the Asset they will need a license of their own.

I hope this information helps. Please feel free to get back to me if you have any follow up questions.

    All the best.

    This is stupid.
I will quote Gabe Newell on this “One thing that we have learned is that piracy is not a pricing issue. It's a service issue,” Just keeping track of who in a company has access to a repository makes this madness. What about contractors etc...
This needs to be cleared up as currently I think its just easier to buy an X amount of seats and hope its enough.
Do I need to buy a seat for my localization guy who is literally just filling in text but needs access to the repository to view how the text looks in the game? Come on. This is absolutely NOT how anyone would naturally interpret or even want the license to be.

Don't even get me started on ODIN with their special pricing for enterprise clients.

EDIT: I would also like to know if everyone is okay with this imbalance. How come I can pay once for a model and have to pay per seat for a simple extension. I don't think this is the intention of every creator on the asset store. And as suggested bellow. A general license of "less than 5 person team - price" "indie studio (5-20) - price x5" "enterprise - price x20" would be much more reasonable.

Another point I have to raise again. Non assembly extension assets should not be allowed. Or atleast discouraged and marked properly. This prevents from users enjoying better workflows on open source projects.
