Symptoms:
- I signed up for DevOps, and don't know how to manage seats.
- I want to know how to assign a DevOps seat to start using the Version Control.
- I need to unassign seats and reassign them to users. How can I do it?
- I'm looking to reduce seats used for Unity DevOps.
Cause:
A seat represents an individual license to use Unity DevOps. Unlike legacy Plastic SCM offerings, Unity DevOps charges per seat rather than 'active user'. Unity DevOps offers up to three seats for free.
An administrator and owner of a UVCS organization can manage seats through Unity Cloud.
Resolution:
To manage seats in your Unity Cloud, follow these steps:
Steps to assign seats:
- Login to the Unity Cloud dashboard
- Select DevOps from the main menu
- Select the UVCS organization that you want to manage the seats
- Click on Seats
- On the Seats page, Click on the Assign seats button
- Add the email address of the user(s) to which you want to assign a seat
- Select all the permissions that apply to the user(s)
- Click on Assign seats to confirm
Steps to unassign seats:
- Go to the Seats page under the DevOps menu
- Select the user(s) whose seats you want to unassign
- Click on the Unassign seats button
- In the dialog that appears, confirm by selecting Unassign seats
Note: If you remove a user, they will require another invite to rejoin the organization.
Any changes made to your seats assigned will be reflected in the following month's billing in line with our support article 'Understanding Unity DevOps charges'.
