Symptoms:
- I'm a Unity Industry subscriber and don’t know how to access my Pixyz plugin license.
- I have a Unity Industry seat assigned, but I get an invalid license error when trying to use the Pixyz Plugin.
Cause:
As of September 3, 2024, the separate Pixyz Plugin license is no longer available. The Pixyz Plugin is now part of the Unity Industry subscription. If you have a Unity Industry subscription, you don’t need a separate license for Pixyz Plugin—it’s already included.
If you purchased the Unity Industry license after 3 Sep 2024, you are entitled to use Pixyz Plugin 3.0 version or above.
Important:
- The Pixyz Plugin will no longer require a specific license to run.
- The new version of the Pixyz Plugin package is compatible with Unity Editor 2022.3 LTS and Unity 6. From version 3.0 and onwards, Pixyz Plugin for Unity is only available from the Package Manager.
- Pixyz Plugin is ONLY available on Microsoft® Windows®.
Resolution:
To install the new package, your Unity Editor license (part of your Unity Industry subscription) needs to be refreshed. The steps to follow depend on how your Unity Editor is licensed:
- If you use the “Named user licensing” model, license activation is automatic and no further action is required. This model is when you have an assigned Unity Industry seat to your Unity account.
- If you use the “Serial-based licensing” model, you must start using the "Named User Licensing" model, as this licensing model is not compatible with extra entitlements (including the new Pixyz Plugin package).
- If you use the “Floating licensing” model, you must re-download the server’s license bundle, which contains the extra entitlements (including the new entitlement for the Pixyz Plugin package). Follow the instructions here.
Once your Unity Editor license has been updated, the new package can be installed from the Package Manager.
To install Pixyz Plugin 3.0:
- Ensure you are using Unity Editor version 2022.3 LTS or later.
- Open the Package Manager in Unity (Window > Package Manager).
- Click the '+' icon and select "Add package by name".
- Enter "com.unity.industry.toolkit" and click Add.
Note: You must have a Unity Industry seat assigned to you to be able to find the Pixyz Plugin package in the Package Manager. In the case of a Floating license, you must also be added to the Organization that owns the license.
