Issue:
- I don't have a paid DevOps subscription but 'Cost and Usage Reporting' shows that DevOps charges are being incurred.
- Why have my repositories stored in free storage of DevOps service been turned to Read-Only?
Cause:
If you exceed the free storage limit for Unity DevOps/Unity Version Control, your repositories become read-only in the Unity Version Control system. This change occurs the moment you exceed the free limit.
As a result, due to exceeding the limit, Cost and Usage Reporting shows that charges are incurred, but you are not billed until you subscribe to the paid DevOps service.
Resolution:
There are two options;
- To access your repositories within the free usage limit, delete existing repositories to fit within the limit.
- To use more DevOps storage than the free limit allows, purchase the paid DevOps subscription.
Even though you don't take any action above, you won’t be charged. However, all your repositories will be deleted 90 days after you exceed the free limit.
