How do I delete an Organization from my account?

    @Hazel

This is great news, but unfortunately the naming workaround for the default organization is not sufficient in my case, as my paid subscriptions are on a "non default" organization that I need to keep, and I need to delete the other "trial" organization that turns out to be "default".

So please enhance the solution to mark a specific organization as the default.

    Hi Steffen,

Sorry to hear you are still having some problems with this! Unfortunately, at this time, it is only possible for empty organizations to be deleted.

It seems that you have a bit of a unique situation, however, as this is affecting your license management.

Please feel free to reach out to our Customer Service team here, as I believe we may have a potential workaround for your case!

Renaming it to DefaultOrganizationThatShouldHaveNeverExisted is not a workaround.  I want it gone.

I thought I'd be cheeky. I created a fake email address and signed up for a Unity ID. I added that ID as an owner on my organization and tried to remove my real account.  Nope: Member is an admin responsible for subscription payments and therefore cannot be removed from this organization

    This is ignorant.

    Hi Scott,

Thank you for your feedback on this matter.

Since your organization DefaultOrganizationThatShouldHaveNeverExisted is the default one, you can not delete it. The only workaround for this is to rename it.

If you need further assistance, please contact Customer Service here.

We need to acknowledge that the comments made above by the customers are valid use cases and that there is a problem with the usability of the site in this particular area.  There needs to be confirmation that this is a problem and a bug report should be created.

Just wow.  You guys should look up the definition for "Default" and "Workaround".  And recommending I rename the org named "DefaultOrganizationThatShouldHaveNeverExisted"?  Just brilliant.  Maybe I'll try that...

Hi Ross Bohner and Scott Beeson

Thanks for pointing me out the confusion with my answer before.

Ross Bohner, checking with my colleagues and technical teams, we do not have any usability problem with the ID portal. For a better understanding, we have a dedicated article for addressed all the questions regarding what Owners, Users and Managers can do in an organization. What can Owners, Managers, and Users do in an Organization?

Regarding the delete organization issue, ID accounts require an Organization to function correctly, therefore upon creating a new Unity ID, a ‘default’ Organization is automatically created using your username as the Organization name. That's why you can not delete the default organization, you can only rename it. Only If you are not the owner, you can leave the organization.

Hope this clarifies your question and concerns.

If you need further assistance on this matter, please contact Customer Service here. One of my colleagues in the Customer Service team can help you.

Can you please stop saying the same thing over and over again? We understand that a default organization is created when you create an ID.  We understand that those default organizations cannot be deleted.  What I don't understand is why I can't CHANGE my default organization and then delete the automatically created one.

I also don't understand why I can't assign someone else as an owner and then leave the useless organization.  That would be a workaround.  But nope, that isn't an option either.

It's also really awesome that after renaming an organization the URL stays the same.  https://id.unity.com/en/organizations/fusionscott

    Hi Scott,

    Thank for the e-mail.

I've checked that you changed your default organization's name accordingly.

Please submit your request to support@unity3d.com if you have any other questions, and we will try our best to assist you.

    WHAT IS HAPPENING?!

What email?  Was there a question that I had changed the name? I said it like 3 times.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!

I get this message... "order exists, organization can not be removed." There is no order that I can see. No mention of what do, of course.
