If you're experiencing issues accessing your Unity project despite being part of your organization, it's likely because you are an Organization Member but not an individual Project Member. This can be confusing as you might already see yourself listed on the Project Members page. Here's a step-by-step explanation and how to resolve the issue.
Why Is This Happening?
As an Organization Member, you have access to organization-level settings and resources. However, project access is handled separately, and only Project Members can view and interact with a project in the Unity Editor. Currently, organization membership doesn’t automatically grant access to specific projects.
How to Add Yourself as a Project Member
To gain access to the project, someone with the appropriate permissions will need to manually add you to the project's members list. This process can be completed by following these steps:
- Navigate to the Project Members page within the Unity Dashboard.
- Someone with project admin privileges should go to Project Settings > (select project) > Project Members.
- From there, they can add you as a Project Member.
Once added, you’ll be able to access the project from the dropdown menu in the Unity Editor.
Important Note
Although you may currently see yourself listed under Project Members, this is only due to your inherited organization membership. You must still be explicitly added as a Project Member to fully interact with the project in the Unity Editor.
