The issue of not seeing Xcode 15.3 or later in the build target configuration is caused by not selecting the latest MacOS operating system. To access newer Xcode versions, users must choose the latest MacOS version with Silicon architecture in the Operating system menu. If the correct OS is selected but newer Xcode versions are still missing, users should contact the Service Support Team via the Build Automation menu for further assistance.
Issue:
- I cannot select Xcode 15.3 or later in the configuration menu for my build target.
- The list of available Xcode versions only shows up to Xcode 15.2 with no options for newer versions.
Environment:
Xcode 15.3 and 15.4 have recently been made available with Xcode 16+ not far away as of the creation of this article. All users should now have these versions (15.3/15.4) available in the configuration menu for IOS builds in the Unity Build Automation service.
Cause:
The most frequent cause of this issue is that the correct operating system is not selected. To use the latest versions of Xcode we need to select the latest MacOS operating system.
Resolution:
To see the selection for the newer versions of Xcode, you must first be sure to select the latest MacOS version (and the SIlicon architecture) from the Operating system menu. With this option selected, you should now see the latest Xcode options.
If you have the correct OS option selected but do not see the new Xcode versions or if you do not see the option for the most recent MacOS (on a Mac builder), please reach out to the Service Support Team via the "Help and Support" option from the Build Automation menu, so the team can investigate further.
