Symptoms:
- I want to know how much my use of Unity Build Automation will cost.
- Where can I find more information about Unity Build Automation?
- I am concerned about additional charges beyond the free tier.
- Where can I sign up for Unity Build Automation?
Cause:
I'm interested in using Unity Build Automation, but I'd like to know more about how the pricing works.
Resolution:
Unity Build Automation (formerly Unity Cloud Build) is now part of Unity DevOps and pricing is completely metered, so you only pay for what you use.
Unity Build Automation follows a tiered pricing model:
-
Free Tier:
- Storage Usage: Includes 5 GB of storage for build history, build artifacts, and Unity Version Control repositories.
- Windows Builder Minutes: Offers 200 minutes per month for Windows builds.
-
Exceeding Free Tier Limits:
- Standard Windows Builder Minutes: After using 200 free minutes, additional minutes are charged at $0.02 per minute.
- Standard Mac Builder Minutes: Not included in the free tier. Charged at $0.07 per minute if used.
- Additional machine configurations are available at prices that are indicated in the build target configuration settings, or on the product pricing linked below.
-
Concurrent Machines:
- Two concurrent build machines are included in the free tier.
- Charges for Additional Machines:
- 1–3 machines: $0.50 per machine per day.
- 4+ machines: $2.00 per machine per day.
-
Usage Monitoring:
- Users can view their usage details through the "Cost and Usage Report" via cloud.unity.com > Administration > Cost and Usage
You can find more details on the pricing on the product page here, which includes details for the pricing of the new Unity DevOps (both Unity Version Control and Build Automation).
To sign up for the service, navigate to cloud.unity.com > DevOps > and click on "Upgrade Plan". This will enroll you in the Pay-as-you-go model.
