Symptoms:
- I want to work with my friend on my project.
- I want to share a project with my friend and work together.
- I previously used Collaborate, but now I can't share my project with friends.
- A project was transferred to me via Unity Cloud and now I am unable to download it.
Resolution:
You now have the option to share your projects with your colleagues and enjoy all the benefits of the Unity Version Control system (DevOps).
The Unity Version Control is a scalable, engine-agnostic version control and source code management tool for game development studios of all sizes. With it, you will be able to efficiently collaborate with other team members, track changes in your project, roll back to previous versions, and much more.
To begin collaborating on your Unity project, follow these steps:
- Sign up for DevOps following the steps in the article 'How do I sign up for Unity DevOps?'
- Connect your project to your DevOps organization. You can do this from the Unity Hub by clicking on the three dots and selecting 'Use Unity Version Control'.
- Assign a seat to your friend in your project repository by following the steps here, and you can then start working together.
You can add up to three (3) team members to your repository and upload up to 5GB for free. If you exceed these limits, the system will prompt you to add a credit card.
For pricing details, please refer to the Unity DevOps Pricing page.
