Does this affect Chinese developers building games for the Western market?
Yes. This cutoff applies to all organizations whose registered address is in Mainland China, Hong Kong, or Macau — regardless of where the target audience for your game is located. If your organization is registered in the Greater China Region, you will need to transition to China-based services.
Note: China-based services are intended for use within the Greater China Region. Using them to target markets outside China may be a Terms of Service violation. Please review the Unity China FAQ for guidance.
What will happen to my live games after June 30, 2026?
After June 30, 2026, the affected services will stop functioning in live games for China-based organizations. This is not just a configuration restriction — your players will be impacted if you have not migrated before the cutoff date.
We strongly recommend that you complete your migration well before June 30, 2026.
What should I do to prepare?
- Review your current service usage — identify which Unity global services your game relies on.
- Plan your migration — map your current services to their China-based equivalents using the table above.
- Export your data and configurations — Unity is not providing automated migration tooling. You are responsible for capturing any data, configurations, and settings you need before the cutoff.
- Update your game's integration — switch your SDK references and API calls to the appropriate China-based services.
- Test thoroughly — verify your game functions correctly against the China-based services before June 30.
My organization was incorrectly flagged as China-based. What do I do?
If your organization is not based in Mainland China, Hong Kong, or Macau but has been identified as such, you can update your organization's regional information by following the steps in this article:

What about DevOps Version Control — is this different?
Developers using Unity Version Control who were already directed to the China-based infrastructure (via devops.unity.cn) and operating on local cloud servers or data centers are not receiving a new change — they were already on China -based services and should continue as normal.
