Upgrading a Plastic SCM (Unity Version Control) on-premises server is a seamless process that is handled directly by the installer. No complex manual in-place upgrade procedure is required for recent versions.
Important Database Requirements for Older Versions that are not using Jet as a DB. If your server already uses Jet, you can skip the database migration part and move to upgrading the server directly
How to migrate a non-Jet database to a Jet database
- Make sure the license you currently support the version you are trying to upgrade.
- Check your current server version before upgrading.
- Be aware that if you are upgrading from a version older than major version 10, SQL databases are no longer supported
- Migrate your existing SQL database to the Jet database engine before attempting to upgrade to version 11 or higher
- You will need to download the on-prem version 11.0.16.6718 or your existing server version (if that's higher than 11.0.16.6718) and follow the instructions to migrate SQL to Jet

- Download the appropriate server version from the official downloads page
- Run the installer on your existing server machine.
- Allow the installer to finish; it will automatically stop the server, perform the necessary upgrade actions, and restart the server without requiring any extra manual steps
