Symptoms:
I want to work with my friend on my project.
I want to share a project with my friend and work together.
I previously used Collaborate, but now I can't share my project with friends.
A project was transferred to me via Unity Cloud and now I am unable to download it.
Resolution:
You can easily share your projects with colleagues using Unity Version Control, part of the Unity DevOps suite. This powerful, engine-agnostic tool helps game development teams collaborate, track changes, roll back to earlier versions, and more.
To start collaborating on your Unity project, follow these steps:
- Create an account: Sign up for DevOps by following the steps in our article: 'How do I sign up for Unity DevOps?'
-
Connect your project: Connect your local project to your DevOps organization. You can do this directly from the Unity Hub by clicking on the three-dot menu (⋯) next to your project and selecting Connect to source control.
-
Invite your team: Log in to the Unity Cloud Dashboard to invite your friends.
- To add them to a specific project, navigate to Projects > Members > Add Members.
- Alternatively, to add them to your entire Organization, navigate to Administration > Organization members > Invite organization members.
- Note: Adding users at the organization level grants them access to all other projects and repositories within your organization.
Free Tier Limits:
You can now add unlimited team members to your project repository for free. Additionally, your organization receives up to 25 GB of cloud storage and 100 GB of egress (outbound data) per month for free. If your project exceeds these storage or egress limits, the system will prompt you to add a credit card to cover pay-as-you-go overages.
