A "Verification Limit Exceeded" error message appears when attempting to redeem my Educator Plan.

Symptoms:

  • When I click on the “Verify My Teacher Status” button, nothing happens.
  • I need help accessing the Unity Educator Plan.
  • I can’t use my Educator license.

Cause:

This error may be caused by a variety of factors, such as:

  • Your Unity Educator Plan has not expired and you are attempting to redeem the plan again within 12 months of a successful application.
  • Your account has already been granted the Educator license previously.
  • You are trying to redeem the license with the incorrect Unity account. 

If your school uses the Educational License Grant you may not be prompted to log in to the Unity Hub or the Editor. In this case, some services will be unavailable to you unless the license and account details can be updated to your Educator plan on your machine. You can still use your Unity Educator ID to log in to the Asset Store.

Resolution:

Firstly, ensure you are using the correct Unity account to activate this license. If you are using the incorrect email address, please follow the steps below:

  1. Go to https://id.unity.com/
  2. Sign out of whichever Unity account you are signed into.

  3. Sign in to the Unity account associated with the correct email address

  4. Once you are successfully logged in, go to your email and locate the Unity <> SheerID welcome email I sent to you.

  5. Click the green button in the email to redeem the offer. You will be redirected to a Unity success page if everything is successful.

Ensure that your SheerID verification process has been completed, as it is required to access the Educator Plan.

Note: A weak or unstable network can interrupt the submission process. Please ensure to check your internet connection before attempting to redeem your Educator license.
