Symptoms:
The checkbox that determines if a new Editor project should create a corresponding Cloud project on the Unity Dashboard and link to it is no longer available in the Unity Hub since updating to Unity 6.2 Beta
Cause:
Unity 6.2 Beta introduces a new Developer Data Framework, which is all about giving developers more observability features and control over how their data is used. With more data-driven improvements coming to our Engine, runtime, and developer tools, transparency and control over your data becomes even more important. That’s why we’re introducing a new framework to ensure developers have complete control over how their data is used within Unity.
Starting with this 6.2 release, you’ll see Developer Data show up in your Unity Dashboard settings. This lets you easily manage your data preferences across all your projects and services. Until you customize your settings, Unity will only collect and process the data needed by the products and services you already use to function as intended.
You can change these settings whenever you want - including enabling data sharing to power things like machine learning and benchmarking - and they’ll automatically apply to both your current projects and live games. Alternatively, if you decide you want to opt out of all data collection, you can do so in Project Settings in the Editor.
These features are now built into the engine, making it easier for developers to identify runtime optimization opportunities for their player experience, and to help Unity provide a faster, more reliable and more stable engine by addressing runtime issues at scale.
Diagnostics is enabled by default on new projects, but will remain Disabled for projects migrated to Unity 6.2 or newer.
Resolution:
Diagnostics can be disabled in the Editor from the Project Settings > Services > Diagnostics configuration page and from Build Profiles configuration pages
Granular controls over what data is collected and how it is used are configured from the Developer Data section of your Project Settings page on the Unity Dashboard.
