Unity requires all Organization publishers to complete business verification using a D-U-N-S Number from Dun & Bradstreet. A DUNS is a global, unique 9-digit business identifier used to link the Unity publisher profile to a verified registry record. Organizations must first search for an existing DUNS in the Publisher Portal, or request a free new one (processing can take 5–30 days). The Unity organization name must match the D&B record exactly. Any incorrect D&B data must be fixed directly with Dun & Bradstreet.
If you are enrolling as an Organization, you must verify your business's legal existence. Unity uses the D-U-N-S® Number from Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) as the standard for this check.
This is a mandatory requirement for all Organization accounts and cannot be bypassed.
What is a DUNS number?
A DUNS Number is a unique 9-digit identifier for businesses used globally. It connects your Unity publisher profile to a standardized and verified business registry record.
How to Complete DUNS Verification
- Look up your DUNS number first: In the Publisher Portal, use the provided search tool to see if your organization already has a DUNS number.
- Request a new number if needed: If no record is found, you can request a new DUNS number for free through the link in the Publisher Portal.
- Important: A new DUNS request can take between 5 and 30 days to be processed by Dun & Bradstreet. Please plan for this lead time.
- Ensure your organization name matches exactly: The organization name in your Unity profile must match the D&B record character-for-character. Mismatches in punctuation, spacing, or legal suffixes (like "Inc." vs. "Incorporated") will cause the automated check to fail.
What if my D&B data is incorrect?
Unity cannot edit or correct information in the Dun & Bradstreet database. If your organization's details are wrong, you must contact D&B support directly to have them corrected. Once the changes are live in their system, you can attempt verification again.
