Symptoms:
- I am getting an 'Exceeded seat limit' message when trying to generate a new server.
- I am not able to configure a new server for a floating license.
- I have already configured a server, but when I try to create another one, I get an error message.
- All my seats are assigned to a server, and I need some available to create a new one.
Cause:
The 'Exceeded seat limit' error message appears when attempting to configure a new server via the Unity ID portal as shown below:
This message indicates that all available seats for the Unity license have been allocated to the current server(s). In other words, the maximum number of seats that the current license allows has been reached.
Resolution:
There are two potential solutions to this issue:
-
Purchase Additional Seats: You can purchase additional seats if you need more than the current license allows.
For more information on this process, reach out to your Sales representative/reseller, or Unity Support.
-
Reallocate Existing Seats: A reset of the server configuration can be requested if not all the seats currently assigned to the server are being utilized.
This will allow the redistribution of the seats between the servers as needed.
To initiate this process, the Unity support team can be contacted at this email floatinglicense-support@unity3d.com.
