Question
How do I access the Unity Student plan?
Answer
You can sign up for the Unity Student plan at the sign up page.
- You will be prompted to create, or log in to, your GitHub account and Unity ID.
- Apply for the GitHub Student Developer Pack. This requires proof of enrollment in an accredited institution.
- Once you are verified through GitHub, sign in to the Unity Student plan to get started.
If you have already followed these steps and your student status has still not been verified, please troubleshoot any GitHub verification related issues via this GitHub article Why wasn't my application for a student developer pack approved?, or contact GitHub directly.

Hi I'm logging in Unity Student plan but my license key is invalid what should I do
Estoy iniciando sesión en el plan de Unity Student, pero mi clave de licencia no es valida, ¿que debo de hacer?
Hello Burkay and Samuel.
Derek from Unity Customer Service here.
Thanks for reaching out to us. I'm sorry to hear you're receiving a license error when trying to activate.
I have checked over your license and can see that your license is indeed valid. The error message which occurs could be for a few different reasons.
Since the license is valid, I am quite sure that it could be due to the following. Firstly, if you have Unity Personal installed, the license file may be getting in the way of a new activation.
You may need to clear your existing Licensing files.
Give the steps below a try, and let me know how you get on! The files may be hidden.
1. Delete this file:
* WinXP/Vista: C:/Documents and Settings/All Users/Application Data/Pace Anti-Piracy/License Files
* Win7: C:/ProgramData/PACE Anti-Piracy/License Files
* Mac: HD/Library/Application Support/PACE Anti-Piracy/License Files
and
* Windows: C:ProgramData/Unity
* Mac: Library/Application Support/Unity
2. Restart
3. Download Unity again from our website, since your original install might be corrupt.
http://unity3d.com/unity/download
5. Reinstall and test.
Secondly, if this doesn't not work, I would like to ask you to check your network. Unity requires an uninterrupted connection to activate, this means that a poor internet connection, firewall or proxy can get in the way of activating.
Is there any way you could temporarily disable any firewall or proxy you may have running whilst you activate?
Additionally, sometimes a corrupted license file can get in the way of activating. If none of the above works. I recommend trying to delete your license file and trying again.
If you can not shut these down, I recommend checking the link below to learn how to allow Unity through your network.
https://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/upm-network.html
Please let me know how it goes. All the best.
Hello, I'm already accepted in the github student program and have linked it to my unity account. But the unity website still redirects me to the "notgithubstudent" url which looks like the regular webpage that tells you instructions on how to apply for the github student program despite already being accepted into the student program. What could I be doing wrong?
Hi, I got the Student Developer Pack from GitHub on June 23, but Unity never send me any activation email for the student assets. Whenever I go to the activation webpage and sign in both with my authorized GitHub account and my Unity ID, it always gives me the same “apply for the pack” page, which is clearly for people who haven’t got the pack.
