Express Purchase enables one-click asset purchases with a "Buy Now" button after completing a purchase using a credit or debit card, which automatically saves the card. It activates automatically after the first card payment and can only be turned off in Settings. If not activated, ensure payment was made with a card (not PayPal), the saved card is valid and linked to the correct organization, and the card hasn't been removed or expired.
Express Purchase lets you buy assets with a single click using a "Buy Now" button, instead of going through the full checkout each time.
Express Purchase isn't turned on with a switch in Settings — it activates automatically the first time you complete a purchase with a credit or debit card. Your Settings page can only turn it off, not on.
How to Turn It On
- Add an asset to your cart and go through the regular checkout process (not the "Buy Now" button — that only appears after Express Purchase is active).
- On the Unity payment page, pay with a credit or debit card, and complete any bank verification steps if prompted (e.g., a one-time code from your bank).
- Once your payment is successful, your card is automatically saved as your payment method. There's no separate "save my card" option — it happens automatically.
After this, the "Express Purchase is not activated" message will disappear, and you'll see a "Buy Now" button on product pages for one-click purchases.
Still Seeing "Not Activated"?
If Express Purchase still shows as not activated after a purchase, check the following:
- Did you pay with PayPal? Express Purchase only activates when you pay with a credit or debit card. A saved PayPal account won't turn it on. → Complete a purchase using a card instead.
- Was your saved card removed? You can manage your cards at id.unity.com under your organization's Payment Methods tab. If your card was deleted there, Express Purchase reverts to "not activated." → Check out again with a card to re-save it.
- Are you on the right organization? Your saved card is linked to a specific organization, not to you personally. If you switch to a different organization, you may see "not activated" even if another organization has a saved card. → Confirm which organization you currently have selected.
- Is your card expired or invalid? Only a valid, active card enables Express Purchase. → If your card has expired, complete a new checkout with a valid card.
