This article explains why you may see the error message "Your country is blocked due to the U.S. Government restrictions" when trying to access Unity. Unity must comply with U.S. government sanctions, which currently restrict access from countries like Iran, Cuba, Syria, North Korea, and certain regions of Ukraine. Unfortunately, Unity cannot assist developers in these areas. We recommend staying informed about potential changes to these restrictions, as they may impact access in the future.
Cause:
If you cannot access the Unity website or use the Unity Editor and see the error message 'Your country is blocked due to the U.S. Government restrictions,' it may be because the U.S. has legal sanctions against your country.
Resolution:
Unity Technologies is listed and incorporated as a business in the U.S., which means that as a company, we must abide by the legal sanctions implemented by the U.S. government. Because of these sanctions, some countries cannot access any Unity website.
Currently, countries and regions on this list include Iran, Cuba, Syria, North Korea, and the Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions of Ukraine. We’re currently reviewing recent changes to US sanctions on Syria to evaluate how they apply to Unity’s products and services. Access from Syria will remain restricted until that evaluation is complete.
If you are a developer in any of the above countries, we can't help you gain access to Unity or any Unity website.
However, staying current with any changes the U.S. government may make regarding these sanctions is essential.
