A Unity organization is automatically created with your account and serves as a 'master' entity for managing licenses, subscriptions, Asset Store purchases, and project collaboration. You can create multiple organizations for development or teamwork. For companies, it's recommended to create a new organization rather than using the default one, as default organizations cannot be changed or deleted.
Resolution:
When you create a Unity account, a default organization is automatically created for you. This default organization has the same name as your Unity account username. This is considered to be a 'master' organization and is tied to your Unity account creation.
An organization is used for license and subscription management, Asset Store purchases and project management, including collaboration purposes with other users.
When you purchase a Unity subscription or assets from the Asset Store, they will be associated with an organization of your choosing.
You are free to create as many organizations as you need for development and collaboration in the future.
Important: If you are working as part of a company or larger organization with many users, you should not use a default organization for this. The reason for this is that default organizations and default organization owners cannot be changed or deleted for the reasons above. If your company needs to purchase and manage product licenses or assets, it is highly recommended that you create a brand-new organization for the company's purpose to avoid any complications in the future. |
