Unity does not allow deletion of your default organization for security reasons. To reduce organizations, rename the default one, transfer projects to it, or change account ownership by updating the email. Only completely empty organizations with no purchases can be deleted.
Resolution:
It is not possible to delete your default organization. This is a restriction set by Unity for security and account integrity reasons.
If you want to reduce the number of organizations in your Unity ID account, you can use the following workaround:
- Rename the default organization to something more appropriate for your needs. Note: Organization names must be unique.
- Transfer projects from other organizations to your default organization by following the steps in the article 'How do I transfer my Project to a different Unity Organization?'
- If you are leaving a company or need to transfer the entire account to a new administrator, you do not need to delete the organization. Instead, you can transfer the account ownership by changing the email address associated with the account. Please refer to the article: How do I change the email address attached to my Unity account?
Once these steps are complete, you can delete any other extra organizations you no longer need by following the steps outlined in the article, 'How do I delete a Unity organization from my account?
Note: It's only possible to delete a completely empty organization that has never been used to make purchases. If you have previous subscription purchases or assets in an organization, you will see an error.
