As of March 1, 2026, Unity updated the pricing structure for Unity DevOps (including Unity Version Control and Unity Build Automation) to simplify how costs are measured and to provide more value to customers.
Please note that Legacy Plastic SCM or On-premise configurations may have different terms; these changes specifically apply to the public cloud service.
Resolution:
Unity DevOps operates on a pay-as-you-go model for usage that exceeds the free tiers.
The key changes affecting your billing are:
- Unlimited Seats: No more per-seat charges for cloud-hosted Unity Version Control.
- Increased Free Tiers: 5 times more free storage (25 GB), a new free allowance for Egress (100 GB), and increased free concurrency for builds.
- Unified Pricing: Storage and Egress rates are now unified across Unity Version Control (UVCS) and Unity Build Automation (UBA).
- Simplified Metrics: Storage is now measured in GB (monthly average) instead of GB-Hours, and Egress is introduced as a standalone meter for clearer cost tracking.
How Billing Works under the New Model:
-
Seats:
- Unlimited: You will no longer be billed for adding members to your DevOps project in the public cloud. You can assign as many seats as needed for free.
-
Storage (Standard Storage):
- Billing is based on the monthly average of storage used in GB (previously GB-Hours).
- Free Tier: The first 25 GB per organization/month is free.
- Overage: Usage exceeding 25 GB is billed at the new lower Standard Storage rate. Any usage above this limit is charged at $0.00019GB-hour or $0.14GB/month.
| Note: Both UVCS and UBA usage contribute to this single unified storage meter. |
-
Egress (Outbound Data):
Egress measures the bandwidth used when downloading data from the service. Traffic between Unity services is not counted. Only external downloads are measured.
- Free Tier: The first 100 GB per month is free.
- Overage: Usage exceeding 100 GB is billed per GB. It costs $0.10 per GB.
-
Unity Build Automation (UBA) Concurrency & Minutes:
Usage beyond these allowances will be billed according to the standardized Minutes tiers.
- Unity Editor Concurrency: The number of concurrent builds allowed has increased from 1 to 2 for free. Additional concurrency is now billed at a flat monthly rate (previously "Concurrent Machines").
-
Included Monthly Compute Minutes: Your organization receives a specific allowance of free build minutes per platform:
- Windows (Micro): 200 minutes (formerly "100 Windows Minutes (Standard)" - performance is unchanged).
- Mac (Standard): 100 minutes.
- Linux (Micro): 100 minutes.
