Symptoms:
- When I attempt to create a new Project or open an existing Project, I receive the 'Error launching the editor: The application path does not exist' error message.
Cause:
The 'Error launching the editor: The application path does not exist' error message is caused by the Unity Hub not being launched with the correct permissions. Without the correct permissions, the Unity Hub cannot gain access to the file path needed to launch the Editor.
Resolution:
If you are using a Windows device, right-click the Hub icon and select 'Run as Administrator' to launch the Unity Hub.
If you are using a Mac, follow the guide in the below link and enable root permissions to resolve the issue causing the error:
If you continue to experience problems after running the Unity Hub with administrative permissions, please contact Unity Customer Service and include your Editor & Hub log files.
