What is Unity AI?
Unity AI is a suite of agentic tools designed to help you automate tedious tasks and generate assets both inside your project and outside the Unity Editor. Core features of this suite include the Unity AI Assistant, Generators, AI Gateway, and Unity’s Official MCP Server.
Prerequisites
Before you can access Unity AI, ensure you meet the following requirements:
- Unity Editor: Version 6.3 or newer.
- Cloud link: Your project must be linked to a Unity Cloud project.
- Terms: You must accept the AI Menu terms inside the Editor.
Step-by-Step: How to Get Access
1. Install the AI Assistant package: In the Unity Editor, navigate to Window > Package Manager. Select Add package by technical name, enter the following package name, and click Add:

2. Accept the AI terms: From the main menu, open Window > AI > Assistant. Follow the prompts to accept the in-editor terms and conditions.
3. Sign up for credits: Log in to the Unity Cloud Dashboard and navigate to Unity AI Assistant > Manage credits to provision your credits. The process depends on your license tier:
- Free, Personal, & Student users: Click "Start free trial." You will be directed to the Commerce storefront to start a free 14-day trial subscription (a credit card is required). The trial grants 1,000 credits. Once the trial ends, the subscription automatically renews at $10/month for 1,000 credits/month unless canceled.
- Pro, Enterprise, and Industry(Floating) users: Your organization automatically receives a monthly credit allocation based on your license tier and seat count (Pro: 2,000 credits/seat/month; Enterprise and Industry(Floating): 3,000 credits/seat/month).
4. Organization access: The Organization Owner or Manager must enable Assistant and Generators in the Cloud Dashboard.
5. Start using Unity AI: Once your credits are provisioned, return to the Unity Editor. Open Window > AI > Assistant to start using the tools.
6. Need more credits? You can purchase additional Unity Credit Bundles from the Commerce storefront at any time.
