Symptoms:
- I want access to Unity's source code.
- What is Unity source code?
- Do I need to purchase the source code to view it?
- I require read-only access to the source code.
- I require full access to the source code.
Resolution:
From October 13, 2022, access to read-only source code can be granted on a per-request basis as part of new and existing Unity Enterprise subscriptions. If you would like to access the read-only source, please have your administrator reach out to your Unity account manager or contact Unity Sales.
At this time, Unity source access can only be purchased offline via our Sales team.
Unity source code is the human-readable source code for the core Unity real-time 3D development platform.
It includes the Unity game engine and Unity Editor source code, but not certain third-party software delivered with the Unity engine binaries or Unity dependencies.
Source code enables you to dive deeper into your code and understand what is happening at the code level of your game. If you have more questions about source code, please contact your account manager or message Unity sales.
More information:
The current public source code reference is read-only. It only includes the C# layer of the Unity game engine and Editor for the purpose of understanding or improving your projects. There are benefits and risks to using source code.
