AI-generated content can be published, sold, or distributed for free on the Asset Store, provided it does not resemble third-party or copyrighted work, plagiarize other publishers, or lack significant value to users. All AI/ML-generated content must transparently disclose its nature in the product listing. Submissions must adhere to Unity Asset Store Submission Guidelines, ensuring they offer professional value and usability without anatomical errors or infringement on existing works.✨
Resolution:
The Asset Store allows content generated with AI/ML (Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning) systems to be published, sold, or distributed for free.
However, art content that resembles third-party or copyrighted work, copies or plagiarizes the work of other Asset Store publishers, or does not provide a significant value to end users, will be rejected.
All packages that include any AI/ML (Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning) generated content, including images or other AI content, must transparently disclose this information within the product listing.
This is covered in the Unity Asset Store Submission Guidelines, specifically under section 1. Content Restrictions:
1.1.b Submissions made with AI-aided generation tools have significant value and usability in a professional development pipeline. Submissions might be rejected if they contain anatomical errors that reduce the usability of the asset, resemble third-party and/or copyrighted work, plagiarize the art products of other Asset Store publishers, or do not provide significant value to customers. Content generated with the aid of AI, completely or in part, must transparently disclose this information in the marketing data.
