To download the Unity Editor, create a Unity ID at login.unity.com, then download and install Unity Hub from unity3d.com/get-unity/download. After installing Unity Hub, sign in, select "Installs" "Install Editor," choose the desired version and modules, then install. If needed, older versions are available at the Unity Download Archive. After installation, activate a Unity license to use the Editor.
To use the Unity Editor, users must have a Unity ID account. If you do not have an account, you can create one at login.unity.com.
After creating a Unity ID account, follow the steps below to download and install the Unity Hub and Editor. If you have already installed the Unity Hub and need additional Editor versions, jump to Installing the Unity Editor.
Downloading and installing the Unity Hub
- Navigate to the Download Unity! site.
- Select Download for Windows or select the version you want to download from STEP 1.

If you are using a Windows machine, go to (i) Installing the Unity Hub on Windows.
If you are using a macOS machine, go to (ii) Installing the Unity Hub on macOS.

- Click the UnityHubSetup.exe file.
- Read the License Agreement and click I Agree to continue.
- Select the destination folder, and click Install to continue.
Installing the Unity Editor
(ii) Installing the Unity Hub on macOS.- Click the UnityHubSetup.dmg file.
- Read the license agreement and click Agree to continue.
- Drag and drop the Unity Hub icon onto the Applications folder to install.
- Click the UnityHubSetup.dmg file.
- Click the UnityHubSetup.exe file.
Installing the Unity Editor
New Onboarding Experience (as of August 14th, 2025):
The user interface has been updated for a smoother onboarding experience.
Upon first login, the Hub will automatically start downloading the latest available version.
Creating an initial project is simplified and can now be done in one click, with the "Getting Started in Editor" tutorial readily available.
- Launch the Hub and sign in to your Unity account.
- Select Installs > Install Editor.
- Select the blue Install button to the right of the Editor version you want to use.
- Select the modules you want to use > select the blue Install button to continue.
