Symptoms:
- I have seen an asset on the Unity Asset Store that uses copyrighted content.
- An asset on the Asset Store is copying my original work.
Cause:
You may have found an asset published to the Asset Store that you believe is copying original work by yourself or others and want to report it.
Note: Unity takes instances of copyright infringement very seriously. It is essential to follow the appropriate protocol. |
Resolution:
If you own the asset in question, please visit and read through our Copyright Policy before filing a DMCA Takedown form against it to follow proper legal procedure.
Important: DMCA takedown requests should only be submitted by the copyright owner or an agent authorized to act on the owner's behalf. |
If you are not the owner of the product in question but know who the owner is, it's best practice to contact the asset owner. You can find these details under the Publisher's asset page's 'Support Contact' section.
In addition to notifying the owner of the original work allegedly infringed, you can inform the Customer Experience team to run an internal investigation. Ensure that you send the Customer Experience team as much relevant information about the issue as possible.
More Information:
If the asset in question is copied on a site other than the Unity Asset Store, see the article 'My Asset is being pirated, How can I get the torrent removed?'
