This Unity Hub sign-in error is typically caused by connection issues between your machine and Unity's servers, often due to antivirus, firewall, or proxy settings. To resolve, ensure your browser allows pop-ups for the Hub, clear cache, try a different browser, and add Unity-related domains to your firewall/proxy exceptions. For unsupported Linux distros, refer to a specific article. If issues persist, contact Unity's Customer Experience team with log files. ✨️
Cause:
This error is usually caused by a connection problem between your machine and Unity's servers rather than a problem with your account. Antivirus software, a firewall, or a proxy is the most common cause.
| Note: If you're running the Hub on an unsupported Linux distribution like Steam OS/ Arch Linux, Zorin, or Pop!OS, see the article, 'Unable to log in via The Hub on unsupported Linux distros (Steam OS, Zorin OS, Pop!OS, Arch Linux)' for more information. |
Resolution:
If you can sign in at id.unity.com in your browser but not through the Hub, something is blocking the connection between your machine and Unity's servers. Work through these in order.
- Check that your browser allows the Hub to open a sign-in tab. The Hub opens a browser tab to complete sign-in, and a blocked pop-up stops the process.
- If the tab was blocked before, close the Hub process completely, clear your browser cache and cookies, then sign in again.
- Set a different default browser and try again. Some browsers conflict with Hub sign-in.
- If you use antivirus software, a firewall, or a proxy, add these domains to your exception list:
unity.com
unity3d.com
plasticscm.com
google.com
googleapis.com
microsoft.com
aka.ms
If you want to selectively control the subdomains, add items from the table contained in the proxy exception manual page.
