Do I need a Unity license to keep published games available?

Symptoms:

• Our Unity subscription has expired, and we're not creating any new games. However, we still have games that are published online. Do we need to renew our Unity license?
• I’m no longer developing games, but my existing games are still live in online stores. Do I need a Unity license?

Cause:

You developed games using Unity Pro or another Unity subscription, but you're no longer using it. Despite this, your completed games are still available online.

Resolution:

If you're not developing new games with Unity, you don't need to continue your Unity subscription for the games that are already published.

NOTE:  Unity subscriptions are 1-year contracts, and you need to honor that contract period.
