Symptoms:
- I have purchased third-party content made in a different subscription tier of Unity and want to know if I can use this with my Unity subscription tier.
- I'm creating content in Unity Personal, and I wonder if users on Unity Plus, Pro, or Enterprise will still be able to purchase and use my asset.
- I want to know what restrictions apply when acquiring assets made using the different subscription tiers of Unity.
Cause:
Developers are likely to create assets, add-ons, or services on a different subscription tier from you.
For example, a developer may create third-party content using Unity Personal, and you want to use this in your Unity Plus/ Pro/ Enterprise version of the Editor.
Resolution:
You are free to use and create third-party assets independently of which version of the Editor the end-user is on. Content developed with Unity Personal can be used to create a game in Unity Plus, Pro, or Enterprise and vice-versa.
When you purchase content from the Unity Asset Store, it becomes your property.
You can use these assets in your project for commercial use with no tier restriction. However, it's worth mentioning that there are 'restricted' and 'non-restricted' Unity assets. You can get more information about this in the Knowledge Base article, 'Can I use assets from the Asset Store in my commercial game?'.
Please read the Asset Store EULA for further details on the limitations of usage.
More Information:
Note: Unity Plus is no longer available to purchase. |
