Symptoms:
- I want to completely remove a project from my Unity Cloud dashboard.
- I want to irreversibly delete a project I'm no longer using.
- I need to clean my account and delete old projects.
- I have projects in my archive that are no longer wanted and I will never need to recover. Can these be deleted from my archive?
Cause:
Some users want to remove their projects completely from their Unity account and/or from the Unity Cloud Dashboard.
Prior to July 2025, users could not delete projects from Unity Cloud, and could opt to archive them instead. Archiving ensures that your projects are not visible on your Unity Cloud dashboard, and they can be unarchived at any time if needed. Archived projects do not contribute to overall storage usage for services such as Unity DevOps.
For guidance on archiving Unity projects instead of deleting them, visit the following article: How do I archive a Unity project?
Resolution:
Yes - as of July 2025, Owners and Managers of Unity Organizations can delete projects on Unity Cloud.
If you are not an Owner or a Manager of your Organization, you will not be able to delete projects.
Please note: projects must be archived first before they can be deleted. For assistance on archiving projects, please see 'How do I archive a Unity project from Unity Cloud?'.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Once a project has been deleted, it will be deleted across all Unity Services, and the data, files and information associated with it will become irrecoverable. |
To delete an archived Unity project, please follow the steps below:
- Sign in to your account at cloud.unity.com
- Ensure that you are using the correct organization for your project by clicking your username at the top-right corner of the screen > Switch Organization > Organization name.
- Click Projects to the left of the screen and then click on the Archived tab.
- Click on the archived project you want to delete.
- Please note: this project will be deleted across all Unity Services, and the data, files and information associated with it will become irrecoverable.
- Select the red button marked 'Delete'.
- A warning message appears. If you want to continue with deleting the project, click 'Delete'.
Once you have clicked 'Delete' again to confirm this, you will receive a confirmation notification in the bottom right corner of the screen stating that the project has been deleted.
Please note: if a Dashboard project has an associated Asset Manager project with at least one asset, you cannot delete it and will receive an informational message stating it cannot be deleted. Full integration with Asset Manager projects will be available in the near future.
More information:
Users can also choose to delete the project from their local machine. However, it will still appear as archived in the Unity Cloud.
