This message appears when your account tries to activate a Unity Personal license while linked to an organization with a paid Unity Pro, Enterprise, or Industry license, or if your revenue exceeds $200K. Unity Personal is only for users with revenue/funding below $200K annually. To resolve, purchase an appropriate license or add seats to an existing subscription. For errors, contact your Unity Client Partner or compliance@unity3d.com.
This message typically appears when:
You’re part of an organization or project that is currently licensed under Unity Pro, Enterprise, or Industry, while your account or editor is attempting to activate a Unity Personal license.
You’ve been added as a member (for example, as a collaborator or seat user) to an organization with a paid license tier.
You’re using Unity on a machine or project linked to a domain or email address associated with a paid-tier organization.
Unity’s compliance system has detected possible license conflicts between your user activity and the organization’s license eligibility (for example, project sharing, seat assignment, or cloud service usage).
You're associated with an organization that does not meet the revenue eligibility criteria to use Unity Personal.
Cause:
This warning or error appears when Unity believes your account may not meet the eligibility criteria to use Unity Personal.
It can also occur when your account is connected to an organization that has already purchased a paid Unity license, which automatically makes all members of that organization ineligible for Unity Personal use.
Resolution:
Unity Personal licenses are only available to customers with revenue and/or funding below US $200K for the most recent twelve (12) month period.
To continue using Unity without interruption, you must purchase a new Unity license that best suits your needs and complies with the Unity Terms of Service.
Getting the right license:
- If you have your Unity Client Partner, please reach out to them to purchase an eligible license.
- If not, please purchase your license via our online store.
Adding seats to existing subscription:
If you currently have an active Unity Pro subscription, you can add more seats to accommodate your team. Please refer to this article: How do I increase the number of seats on my subscription?
Once you purchase and activate an eligible license, you can continue using Unity normally.
If you believe this is an error:
If you believe your account has been warned by mistake, speak with your Unity Client Partner or contact compliance@unity3d.com.
