How do I change the email address on my Unity account?

You can change your Unity account email via account settings on id.unity.com or cloud.unity.com by editing your email and verifying the new address. The new email must not be linked to another Unity account. Issues may arise if you've changed emails five times or lost access to your current email. To request further changes, provide private info like organization name or purchase details and public info like your phone number or Unity username. ✨

 
There are different reasons why you may need to change the email address associated with your Unity account. For example, your initial email belongs to an organization you no longer are part of. Or you decide to link your account to a new email address
 
Additionally, your Unity and PlayStation® developer account email addresses must match. This alignment is necessary to access support and developer tools.
 
Your Asset Store email address and Unity ID email address are one and the same. To update your Asset Store publisher information, see the Asset Store publishing guide.
 
Note: If you misspelled your email address when creating a Unity ID, or you do not receive your confirmation email, contact the Customer Experience team.
 
Resolution:

You can change the email address in your account settings by following this process:

  1. Navigate to id.unity.com or cloud.unity.com and sign in to your Unity account.

  2. Select Settings. If you log in to id.unity.com, you will be redirected to the Unity Cloud Dashboard.

  3. Click your profile icon in the top-right corner, then select Account.

  4. In the left-hand menu, select Account Settings.

  5. Locate your email address and select the Edit (pencil icon).

  6. For a Security Check, you will be prompted to re-enter your account password.

  7. Select Edit Email and enter your new email address.

  8. A confirmation email will be sent to the new address. Click the Verify email link within that email to complete the process.                       

  9. Once verified, refresh your dashboard screen to confirm the changes.

Important: 

  • Your new email address must not link to another Unity account. If the email is in use, you see the error message: "This email is already used by another account." 
  • If you previously used and verified the email address on this account, the system updates it immediately.
  • During your first login with your updated email, do not select "Sign in with Google" or other social options. Manually enter your new email address and password. If necessary, reset your password before you log in. After a successful manual login, you can link your social accounts for future access.

 

You may experience issues changing your Unity account email if:

  • You have reached the maximum limit of five email changes, or

  • You no longer have access to your current email address

 

If you're receiving this error, you can request further changes by providing the following information:

Examples of private information include:

  • Name of a Unity Organization that you're a member of.
  • Name of a recent Asset Store purchase.
  • A recent invoice or order number.
  • The name of one of your Unity Cloud projects.

Examples of public information include:

  • The telephone number currently associated with your Unity ID account.
  • Your Unity Username.
  • Your full, physical postal address.

In the case of reaching the email change limit, please also provide a list of email addresses you want removed from your account.
