How do I change or update the payment method on my account?

To update or add a payment method for a Unity subscription or Unity ID account, the billable owner must sign in to their account. For subscriptions, use cloud.unity.com or id.unity.com depending on where the subscription is managed, then navigate to payment methods to add or update details. For Unity ID accounts, sign in at id.unity.com, select the organization, and update payment methods under the payment section. Payment details must match the organization's billing address. ✨️

 

Cause:

To buy a Unity subscription, a service, or an item from the Asset Store, your organization needs a valid payment method on file. You may also want to change the card or PayPal account associated with a subscription you already have.

Resolution:

Provided that you are the billable owner of the Unity organization, you can use your account settings dashboard to update or add your payment method.

If you are updating your payment method on your subscription:

The resolution differs depending on where your Unity subscription is housed. If your subscription is housed under the Unity ID portal (id.unity.com), click here to jump to your resolution.

  1. Navigate to cloud.unity.com and sign in with your Unity ID credentials.
  2. Using the left-hand menu, select Administration > Payment methods.
  3. Click the blue Add payment method button.

  4. Select the type of payment method you want to add. For example, Credit Card or PayPal, and enter your payment details > select Confirm.

    Important: The billing address used for your transaction is your Unity organization address. Ensure your details are correct before proceeding.
  5. Click the three dots to the right of the new payment method > select Assign to subscriptions.

  6. Select your subscription and click Confirm.

If your Unity subscription is housed at id.unity.com, follow the steps below:

  1. Sign in to your Unity ID at id.unity.com
  2. Select Organizations to the left of the screen.
  3. Select the organization with your subscription attached.
  4. Click Manage (cog icon) to the right of your subscription. (Note: If you’re unable to find your subscription listed on this page, it may be managed through the Cloud dashboard. Click here to jump to your resolution.)

  5. Select the Manage payment instrument tab.
  6. Click Update payment method.

Note: Payment instruments cannot be completely removed from an active subscription.

 

If you are updating your payment method on your Unity account:

  1.  Sign in to your account at https://id.unity.com/Unity-id-sign-in.png
  2. Select Organizations to the left of the screen.Unity-id-sign-in-org.png
  3. Select the organization that you want to update the payment instrument on.Unity-id-sign-in-org1.png
  4. Select Payment Methods from the left side of the screen.Unity-id-sign-in-payment-method.png
  5. Select the Add Payment Method button or the pencil button to edit your card details. Once it's done, save the changes.

Note: If you have not previously purchased from the store, you cannot add a new payment instrument using this method. To do so, proceed to the checkout upon purchase and enter your payment details when prompted.
