Security filters, browser extensions, and antivirus software can block active links in emails, especially automated ones flagged as unsafe or spam. To resolve this, check spam folders, mark emails as safe, disable VPNs, antivirus email scanning, and browser extensions, and turn off security filters like 'Safelinks'. If issues persist, contact Customer Experience. ✨️
Cause:
Security filters, browser extensions, and antivirus software block or remove active links in incoming emails. This issue occurs when email providers flag automated messages as unsafe or spam.
Resolution:
If you cannot select the link inside your account confirmation or password reset email, perform these troubleshooting steps:
- Check your spam, junk, and promotions folders. Email providers often redirect these automated messages.
- Mark the email as 'safe' or move it to your primary inbox if found in your spam folder. This reactivates the link.
- Temporarily disable any Virtual Private Network (VPN) or proxy server to test your local network connection.
- Temporarily disable your antivirus software's real-time email scanning before requesting a new password reset or email confirmation link. For McAfee, follow the real-time scanning steps on the McAfee Support Page.
- Disable your web browser extensions. In Google Chrome, navigate to the Chrome Menu, select Extensions, and click Manage Extensions to toggle extensions off. Enable them individually to pinpoint the root cause.
- Disable 'Safelinks' or similar security filters in your email provider settings. For Outlook, follow the instructions on the Outlook Support Page.
