I'm trying to update my email address on my Unity account, but I'm encountering an error that says 'You have too many emails. The maximum is 5.'

Symptoms:

• I need to update my Unity account email address but cannot due to an error.

Cause:

There is a limit on the amount of email addresses that can be linked to a Unity account at any one time. Any email addresses that have been associated with your Unity account are linked to it permanently.

If this limit has been reached when trying to add another new email address, an error will appear preventing the update.

Resolution:

Any previous account email addresses must be removed before the new email address can be added.

Previous email addresses cannot be removed via the Unity ID portal. In order to have your old email addresses removed, you must contact the Customer Experience Team to make the update.

Please ensure your request includes one piece of private information and one piece of public information to verify your identity. Examples of private information include:

• Name of a Unity Organization that you're a member of. Name of a recent Asset Store purchase.
• A recent invoice or order number.
• The name of one of your Unity Cloud projects.

Examples of public information include:

• The telephone number currently associated with your Unity ID account.
• Your Unity Username.
• Your full, physical postal address.
