You can unlink your Google account from your Unity ID via Account Settings > Security > Connected applications, removing Google as a sign-in option without deleting your Unity account or services. Ensure you have a Unity ID password set before unlinking to avoid sign-in issues. After unlinking, Google sign-in is deactivated, but your projects, licenses, and other linked social accounts remain unaffected. Two-factor authentication stays enabled if previously set.
Overview:
If you previously linked a Google account to your Unity ID and want to remove that connection, you can unlink it at any time from your Unity Account settings. Unlinking will remove Google as a sign-in option for your Unity ID, but it will not delete your Unity account or any associated services.
Before you begin:
Ensure you can sign in to your Unity ID using your email address and password. After unlinking Google, you will no longer be able to sign in with Continue with Google.
If you normally use Google SSO to sign in, set a Unity ID password first to avoid being locked out.
Set or confirm your password (if needed):
- Navigate to login.unity.com.
- Enter your Unity ID email address and click Continue.
- Click Reset your password and follow the prompts to reset your password, or if you’re already signed in, go to Account Settings and ensure a password is set under Security.
Resolution:
To unlink your Google account from your Unity ID, follow the steps below:
- Navigate to https://cloud.unity.com/account/security and sign in if prompted.
- Select Connected applications.
- Click Remove access.
- A prompt appears on screen. Select Remove to confirm.
What happens after unlinking:
- You will no longer see the Continue with Google option for this Unity ID.
- Your Unity projects, licenses, purchases, and services remain unchanged.
- If you use two-factor authentication (2FA), it remains enabled and will be applied when signing in with your email and password.
- If you have multiple social sign-ins linked (e.g., Facebook, Apple), only Google is removed; others remain unless you unlink them as well.
