Symptoms:
- You want to remove your default payment method from your Unity account.
- You are unable to delete the payment method due to active subscriptions.
- You receive an error message stating that the payment method cannot be removed because it is linked to a subscription.
Cause:
Unity requires at least one payment method to be on file to cover any potential charges. A payment method cannot be deleted if it is associated with an active subscription.
If you have multiple payment methods and wish to delete the default one, add a new payment method first. Set the new payment method as the default.
Resolution:
To delete a payment method, follow these steps:
For accounts housed under the Unity ID Dashboard (id.unity.com):
Navigate to the Unity ID portal.
Go to the 'Organizations' tab.

Select the organization associated with the payment method by clicking the Cog/'Manage' button.

Click on 'Payment Methods' in the left-hand menu.

Remove the desired payment method by clicking the 'X' button.
For accounts housed under the Unity Cloud Dashboard (cloud.unity.com):
- Navigate to cloud.unity.com and sign in with your Unity credentials.
- Using the left-hand menu, select 'Administration'.
3. Using the left-hand menu, select 'Payment methods'.
4. Click 'Delete' next to the payment option you wish to delete.
Important Notes:
- You must be the owner or have billing admin rights for the organization to edit billing details.
- Being an Admin on Version Control alone is not sufficient to make these changes.
